Use
& Applications
Plan carefully in advance!
The homeguard/powerguard control unit is only to be operated in
dry indoor areas. When considering possible places of
installation for the control unit, please consider the following
points:
- choose a place for the control unit so that an intruder
can be recognized at the earliest possible moment
- there must be a 230V mains socket and a telephone socket
near the control unit
- do not mount the control unit on a metallic surface
- do not situate the control unit directly alongside
electrical appliances such as a radio or television set,
computer, monitor or other domestic appliances. The
radiation given off by such appliances can greatly reduce
the range of the radio remote-control units.
- Do not enter any of the public emergency phone numbers in
the telephone dialing unit - this is forbidden by law
- Operating radio transmitters on the same frequency (e.g.
cordless headphones) can greatly reduce the range of the
radio remote-control units.
The Infra-red motion detector
- the infrared motion detector built into the control unit
reacts to changes in heat caused by movement of a human
being within the operating range of the unit, which then
triggers off an alarm.
- the powerguard is usually best positioned at a height
between 1.9 and 2.3 meters.
- because the motion detector reacts to any change in heat,
there should not be any heat sources within its range of
coverage.
